Co-op & Convergence
Deploy solo or in a private 1–4 subject Investigation cell—or enter Convergence, where time-displaced expeditions spot one another as distant flashlight echoes and merge up to 8 subjects when a blackout hits.
Enter the maze out of sync. Document what shouldn't exist. Make it back to the Refuge.
DESYNC PROTOCOL is an online cooperative Backrooms investigation and survival horror game for 1–8 players on PC, built in Unreal Engine 5 and recorded through 1990s VHS bodycam optics. Developed and published by UNDEFINED STUDIO SL.
Step out of a fortified safe station into an endless, multi-floor belt of yellowed office partitions, humming fluorescent ballasts, maintenance sub-levels, and flooded tile halls—where every squad enters on a slightly different date, and every repair or lost pack persists in the world.
Deploy solo or in a private 1–4 subject Investigation cell—or enter Convergence, where time-displaced expeditions spot one another as distant flashlight echoes and merge up to 8 subjects when a blackout hits.
Hear your squad the way sound actually travels through empty offices—muffled by drywall, echoing across damp tile, and fading down stairwells. Coordinate via chest radio, hand gestures, or silence—because entities listen too.
Recover calibrated maintenance modules and materials to physically upgrade your Refuge. Unlock new signal bearings, rest bunks, shared cell storage, and deeper extraction anchors without artificial level-gating.
Photograph, frequency-scan, and sample lethal anomalies for your guild's shared Anomalidex. Spray orientation stencils, deploy persistent field devices, or recover the dropped pack and VHS tape of an explorer pulled out before you.
Cross the threshold back into the Refuge to bank recovered hardware, review contracts, and physically expand your communications array.
Only what your squad observes is drawn. Track multi-floor stairwells, color-coded teammate paths, modified zones, and active green anchors.
Compile photographs, 47.3 kHz telemetry frequencies, and physical samples to unlock verified behavior profiles and survival countermeasures.
In-engine Unreal Engine 5 captures from active DESYNC field builds—spanning the Refuge, Hydro-Sector pools, blackout corridors, squad staging, and archival terminals. Select any frame to inspect full-size.
In 1987, the DESYNC Foundation lost contact with an entire chain of sub-surface maintenance and relay stations. The rooms did not collapse—they repeated. Miles of damp acoustic carpet, buzzing sodium ballasts, and concrete service shafts folded into an unmapped interior belt that refuses to obey baseline time.
Today, regional DESYNC guilds dispatch hazmat-sealed field subjects from fortified link stations to reclaim abandoned infrastructure, restore communications relays, and execute containment operations. No two expeditions enter on the same timestamp: your squad may step across the threshold minutes—or years—apart from the team whose flashlight you just saw flicker down the hall.
Everything that helps you survive, navigate, communicate, or progress in DESYNC PROTOCOL is free for every player. Optional requisitions support ongoing development strictly through visual customization—enforced by automated fairness checks in code.
DESYNC PROTOCOL is in active development for Windows PC. Store pages are being finalized under the new brand identity; wishlist links below will activate as soon as store review completes.
DESYNC PROTOCOL launches first on the Epic Games Store for Windows PC—featuring native Epic Online Services sign-in, friend invites, relayed peer-to-peer co-op sessions, and zero-recording spatial proximity voice.
A Steam release for Windows PC is planned following the initial Epic Games Store launch, designed with cross-account progression and cosmetic entitlement recognition via EOS Connect.
Official fact sheet, approved 17A vector/raster wordmarks, and clean 1080p Unreal Engine 5 captures for press coverage, store directories, and content creators.
Brand guideline: preserve the exact 2048:792 wordmark aspect ratio without horizontal stretching, outlines, or added drop shadows.
DESYNC PROTOCOL is an online cooperative horror and exploration game set in the Backrooms, developed and published by UNDEFINED STUDIO SL for Windows PC. You play as a hazmat-equipped subject sent from a persistent Refuge to map shifting architectural strata, document dangerous anomalies, recover communications hardware, and make it back alive.
Both. You can explore solo at your own pace, run private persistent campaigns with 1–4 friends in an Investigation cell, or enter public Convergence outings where separate squads can cross paths and merge up to 8 subjects during blackouts. Your personal progress and Refuge milestones carry forward whether your friends are online or offline.
